ABOUT ME
Hey, I'm Garrett Conn. Founder of Conn Human Performance and the performance coach behind the work you'll see across this site.
Since you're here, let me take a second to actually introduce myself.
I live in Champlin, Minnesota, with my wife, Sarah, who is, I'll be fully transparent, more athletic than I am and beats me at almost everything. It's fine. I'm fine. We have two incredible kids, Jett and Odette, and our dog Crue, who holds the household together.
We're die-hard Minnesota sports fans of every team, every season. Don't recommend it if you enjoy emotional stability.
A couple of things you might not expect from your coach: I used to coach high school girls. I located my shoulder mid-race. I finished anyway. That's how I operate.
Sixymnastics. And I've competed in two 24-hour obstacle races, including one where I've seen years of coaching have taken me through high school athletes, college performers, members of the Timberwolves and Vikings organizations, and now high-performing professionals all over the country. I still train clients in person at my Champlin location and in St. Paul. But over the last several years, I've built Conn Human Performance to reach the formerly athletic adult who quietly stopped training and wants to get back to who they used to be.

I grew up an athlete. It was who I was, not just what I did.
Then college happened.
What most people call the "Freshman 15" hit me more like the Freshman 30. And somewhere in there, I realized I had a choice to make. I had decided I was going to coach for a living, and I knew that if I was going to ask athletes to perform, I had to look and live the part myself.
So I made a decision.
I lost over 45 pounds and never looked back. But more importantly, I figured out how, not through a 90-day program or a meal plan I couldn't sustain, but through building systems that actually worked inside my real life.
That was the beginning of 16 years of coaching. Every client I've trained since then has gotten the tools, the frameworks, and the hard-won lessons from that journey — and then some.
